All things book

Welcome to my author page. Reading has been something I’ve enjoyed my whole life. Ask anyone who’s ever known me and the majority of them will tell you they saw me with a book at some point. Eventually my love of reading morphed into a love of writing also. I love creating characters and problems, scenery and action.

And when I say I read a lot, I mean I’ve always got at least one book going either on my phone or a physical copy lying around somewhere. Because of my love of reading I created a book journal, a way to record and keep track of the books I’ve read.

Not only am I an author and creator, but I’m the mother of 4 kids too. I’d be lying if I said they did not influence my stories and creativity. One of the projects they inspired was the creation of the sports journals. As kids, and even parents, sometimes it’s hard to see improvement from the beginning of the season to the end, and year to year. These journals are designed to help kids see that progress. It asks them questions like what they want to improve, how they’ve improved, what they did good, so they see they’re not just screw ups making mistakes. A way to keep track of support and friends.

Want a fun way to find a new book to read and get cool gear? Try a blind date with a book box.

What is a blind date with a book? It’s a special box where you’re only given vague information about a book and what it’s about. The box itself is full of all kinds of goodies. I try to keep as much local and handmade goodies in my boxes as possible and I’m always coming up with new things to put in them. Rare is the occasion you’ll find any two boxes the same, even if you were to get the same book. What’s even cooler about it? I’ve teamed up with a few of my author friends, all local to me, so there are five of us authors between all the boxes, and may add more as I meet others and read. Also, I try to make sure all the books are signed! Some of them may even have special editions. Some of the boxes have exclusive playlists and themed recipes. There’s all kinds of fun things in them.

He had to get his focus on track and the only way to do it was to find it where he’d lost it, in the Louisiana swamps over a story that wouldn’t let him tell it. A story that meant success or failure. A story that had tried to kill him, more than once. A story that affected the marrow of his bones.
